Mission does not mean to travel to far off countries to convince people of a doctrine. It means to live together with them and to celebrate, to listen to their hardships and to be there for them. In early times Austrian missionaries in Third World countries were provided with a means of transportation. Today it is mostly local bishops, priests and religious congregations who are supported in the partner countries. They are often fully committed to assisting their countrymen – but in many cases there is a lack of financial resources for a necessary needed vehicle.
