MIVA has several founders and several important events in its foundation. Whereas the German MIVA-Original soon moved away from its real purpose and has supported the Catholic pastoral work in the countries of the north as "Diaspora MIVA" since 1949 , the Austrian MIVA - as well as MIVA organisations in many other countries – has served the Catholic mission since its foundation and is today as active as never before.
