The Tenth of a Cent for which MIVA asks nowadays is something like an own MIVA currency. After the changeover to the Euro the Tenth of a Cent replaced the penny for which MIVA had asked since the first Christophorus Campaign. The Tenth of a Cent also has a symbolic character. It reminds people of the Old Testament which obligated the Israelites to offer a tenth of their income to God or the community: And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: it is holy unto the LORD. (Leviticus 27,30).
