Transporting laboriously harvested goods to market - that's what MIVA mules are primarily there for. The robust four-legged friends are found in the mountainous regions of Haiti. They make the hour-long transport to the valley much easier.
Backaches of the women - who are responsible for the upkeep of the whole family in the poorest country in Latin America - become history thanks to a "MIVA mule". And the greatest thing: the sale of agricultural products, which is made possible by the mule, secures the livelihoods of entire families.
